Brow Lift

Ageing brows can be a hard thing to reverse.

A brow lift is a procedure that allows patients to improve the look and feel of skin within the brow area.

Developing ‘heavy’ brows is a natural part of the ageing process and something many of us will experience. Ageing brows can be an extremely hard thing to reverse the look of and as a result many of non-surgical treatments that aim to reverse the look of drooping brows don’t offer the result many of us look for. Brow lift surgery, however, might be the answer you are looking for.

Having sagging brows can make your brows and your face as whole look much older, and as a result it can make you feel unattractive and self-conscious about how old you look. Brow lift surgery aims to rid you of these insecurities by removing the droopy and ageing look to your brows, leaving you happier with your appearance and allowing you to rebuild your confidence.

A brow lift is a surgical cosmetic procedure that allows patients to improve the look and feel of skin within the brow area, to restore a more youthful and toned appearance, that help improve the look of the face in general. Brow lift surgery is performed under general anaesthesia and can be performed under two different methods: open and endoscopic. These methods both share similar outlines of surgery but differ slightly in their methods of creating the incisions necessary to perform brow lift surgery.

Classic (Open) brow lift

The classic brow lift surgery involves an incision that runs just behind the hairline and extends from ear to ear. Once the incision has been made the skin can be folded back and the muscles within the brows are tightened. Once the muscle tightening process is complete the skin is then pulled back into place, the excess skin is removed and the incision is stitched.

Endoscopic brow lift

On the other hand, endoscopic brow lift involves a series of smaller incisions behind the hairline. Once these small incisions have been made a microscopic camera will be placed under the skin through these incisions in order to direct the surgeon through the muscle tightening process without the need to create a larger incision. Once the muscles have been tightened the camera is removed and any excess skin is removed before the skin is pulled into places and stitched.

Browlift and upper and lower blepharoplasty

Like all cosmetic procedures, brow lift surgery comes with risks that should be carefully considered in order to make an informed decision whether the procedure is right for you. Possible risks and side-effects you may encounters as a result of undergoing brow lift surgery include swelling, bruising, bleeding, infection, change in skin sensation, poor wound healing and damage to facial muscles and nerves. Although there are some possible risks and side-effects involved with brow lift surgery, there are also many pros that can come from the treatment too. For example, brow lift surgery provides patients with dramatically improved looking skin and tone within the brow area, and this effect is also a much longer term answer to your brow issue than any other cosmetic treatment available.

Mr Ahmed will provide a comprehensive assessment of your brow before you decide whether it’s the procedure for you.
